  Having paid nearly a fiver for 8 thick pork sausages I was appalled by the amount of fat that came out of them when I oven cooked 3 of them. Usually a great food emporium but these were well below standard.

  The butcher's/delicatessen side of the business is uniformly excellent in my experience; meats are fresh and well trimmed, there's a good selection of cheeses and other produce and a variety of hot foods to take away, prepared and cooked on the premises and all providing good value.
  
  A star is lost because my own experience of the restaurant side has been slightly uneven and with pricing not always justified by the quality of service, which can range from admittedly superb to frankly indifferent.
